Matter and Moisture (electroacoustic music/poetry collaboration with Alexander Hutchison, 2014)
This piece emerged owing something to the I Ching, with much of the content boiled away; though it does save the central image of the Well. Like the I Ching or Book of Changes the poem offers some advice; but without much expectation or desire that it be heeded. (AH)
Alexander Hutchison has read and published his work widely in the UK, Europe, the US and Canada. As poet and translator he writes in English and Scots. Recent work has appeared in Bones & Breath (Salt, 2013). Critics have echoed Richard Ellmann's early identification of "wit and mystery" in his work as a source of delight. "Power and beauty, mischief and humour. Longer poems mix satire with tender affection".
